🧠 1. Allocate the Right Amount of RAM
For best performance with this modpack, we recommend allocating between 6 GB and 10 GB of RAM depending on your system, or what the game told you on first run.
How to change it:
- CurseForge: Settings → Minecraft → Java Settings → Set "Maximum Memory Allocation" to 6144 MB - 10240 MB
- Modrinth: Settings → Default instance options → Set "Memory allocated" to 6144 MB - 10240 MB
📝 2. Edit Your options.txt File
This file controls many hidden Minecraft settings. It is located at:
- CurseForge:
C:\Users\[YourName]\curseforge\minecraft\Instances\Roonie's Adventures [(Your Version and Loader)]\options.txt
If unsure where this is, right-click your modpack in CurseForge and choose \"Open Folder\".
Recommended settings to tweak:

⚙️ 3. In-Game Settings
These settings should be applied, but just in case.Launch Minecraft and open Options → Video Settings. Change the following for better performance:
- Graphics: Fast
- Render Distance: 10-12 chunks
- Smooth Lighting: Off
- Particles: Minimal
- Entity Shadows: Off
- Clouds: Off
- VSync: Off (unless screen tearing is visible)
- Max Framerate: 100-120
🚀 4. Performance Mods
This modpack already includes optimization mods like:
- Embeddium – Optimized rendering (Fork of Sodium)
- Radium – Speeds up game logic processing (Fork of Lithium)
- Starlight – Faster chunk lighting engine
- FerriteCore – Reduces memory usage
- ImmediatelyFast – Improves immediate rendering performance
- KryptonReforged, ModernFix – General system optimizations
These are automatically configured for most users. No extra setup required.
💡 5. Optional Tweaks
- Close background apps that consume CPU/RAM.
- Ensure Java 17 is installed (modded Minecraft 1.20.1 requires it).
- Use
F3to monitor FPS and find performance bottlenecks. - Enable Lazy Chunk Loading if available in performance mod menus.
